Davao Light unveils 100 MVA Don Ramon Substation

The rapid growth of commercial and industrial loads in the northern sector of davao city has drove to the development of Davao Light and Power Co., Inc's Don Ramon Substation. The newly upgraded substation has an additional capacity of  100MVA, making its overall capacity to 200MVA. This newly commissioned capacity upgrade was inaugurated last July 5, 2017 in Brgy. Bunawan, Davao City. This will serve the increasing demand of electricity in the northern part of the Davao Light's franchise.

 

Davao Light's improved Don Ramon substation will not only provide additional capacity but its will also improve the reliability of the distribution system. Thus, improving the quality of service it will offer to our valued customers.”, said Rodger S. Velasco, Davao Light EVP and COO.

 

Present during the ceremony were National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) representatives headed by Engr. Cris Galarrita and Engr. Eliezer Bandala together with the Davao Light employees composed of team leaders and team members.

 

Entrusting the responsibility. Davao Light and Power Company's Project Management Team represented by Allan Christian Calag and Arnel Bersabe turn-over the key of responsibility of operation to Engr. Zandro Chad Ramos (of System's Operation Department) and of Maintenance to Engr. Ledio Penafiel (of Substation Electrical Equipment Department). The said turn over signify the transfer of duties and responsibilities of the newly inaugurated 100 MVA Don Ramon substation. The ribbon-cutting followed, which was ;ed by Davao Light EVP and COO Rodger S. Velasco together with the other Davao Light executives, team leaders and the representatives from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). The event ended with a site tour around the newly upgraded substation.
