Davao Light holds its annual tree planting activity at the Cleanergy Park

It was a green day for the employees of Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. as they held a tree planting activity last July 15, 2017 at the Cleanergy Park in Sitio Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

Around 370 Davao Light Team volunteers participated in the tree planting activity, which is simultaneous with the other business units across the entire Aboitiz Group in the Philippines. The volunteers were composed mostly of employees from Davao Light, team members from the AboitizPower Distribution IT Group based in Davao, and some members from the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers.

 

The participants planted a total of 3,360 mix of mangrove propagules and seedlings of Molave and fruit bearing trees. This is part of the 11,500 target trees to be planted within the year. 

 

Some of the volunteers also did a coastal clean up where a total of 20 sacks of trash were gathered.

Rodger Velasco in his speech, which he quoted from the message of the President and CEO of the Abotiz Group Erramon I. Aboitiz.

The Aboitiz’s annual tree planting activity aims to plant a total of 9 Million trees by year 2020. Davao Light together with the Aboitiz Group will continue to drive change for a better world by creating endeavors supporting the communities where it serves and its environment.
