Davao Light and Power Company

It was a Bayanihan Day at Gawad Kalinga (GK) Village in Los Amigos, Tugbok, Davao City last October 14 after Davao Light and Power Co. conducted a house wiring installation activity to 44 households.

 

A total of 123 volunteers composed of Davao Light employees and partner-electricians helped in the house wiring installation of 22 duplex-houses. These houses are part of the joint housing project of Gawad Kalinga and the Local Government Unit of Davao City.

 

After the wiring installation, 13 houses were energized right away on that same day. This was made possible through an on-site application and brief orientation about the services of Davao Light that was offered by employee-volunteers to the beneficiaries. All the other houses were energized soon after requirements were completed.

 

“Seeing the beneficiaries' smiles of gratefulness during the event is enough for our volunteers after a hard day’s work.” said Davao Light’s EVP and COO, Rodger S. Velasco.
