Davao Light receives recognition from DepEd
Davao Light and Power Co., Inc., an AboitizPower subsidiary, received recognition from the Department of Education during the DepEd's Partners Appreciation Event last February 12, 2019 at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan DepEd Complex, Meralco Ave., Pasig City.
The recognition was given to Davao Light for its valuable contribution and continuing support as DepEd’s partner in promoting quality basic education.
The Davao Light and its social development arm, the Aboitiz Foundation support DepEd in its Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track by providing technical laboratories for its Electrical Installation and Maintenance Course. Support is also given to enhance DepEd's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education program by providing computer hardwares. And to help promote safe and conducive learning environment, activities such as rewiring of Gavaldon buildings were done as well as the yearly participation in the Brigada Eskwela.
Secretary of Education, Culture & Sports of the Philippines Leonor M. Briones awarded the Plaque of Appreciation to Davao Light EVP and COO Rodger S. Velasco.
“Davao Light will continue to advance business and communities through its Corporate Social Responsibility projects that contribute to improve the quality of the basic education in the Philippines.”, said Velasco.
