Increased capacity of TADECO Substation secures power system reliability in the northern part of Davao Light's franchise area

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. has been rolling out series of refurbishment on its substations to cater the current and future electricity needs of its franchise area.

One of the substations that has recently undergone upgrade is Davao Light's TADECO Substation in Panabo City. TADECO Substation’s upgrading works involved the increased capacity of its power transformer from 15 MVA to 33 MVA and the installation of modern protection equipment to increase power reliability.

This capacity upgrade will address the growing power demand of the customers in the Davao del Norte area of Davao Light’s franchise.

The completion of the TADECO Substation capacity upgrade would mean more reliable and continuous power supply with the thriving economy that the Davao del Norte area has such as Panabo City. This is Davao Light’s commitment to advancing business and communities” said Davao Light Director and President and COO Rodger S. Velasco.

Lat March 10, 2019, TADECO substation's new 33 MVA power transformer was successfully energized and loaded, thus, securing the reliability of the power supply in the northern part of Davao Light's franchise.
