7 public schools in Davao City receive electrical laboratory tools

Seven public high schools in Davao City received new electrical laboratory (e.Lab) tools from Davao Light and Power Co., Inc, together with its social development arm, the Aboitiz Foundation for its students taking up Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) Course.

This Davao Light project also known as e.Lab Plus provides Electrical Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and additional tools and equipment for electrical laboratories being used for the EIM Course in public high schools.

Sta. Ana National High School, Vicenta Nograles National High School, Maa National High School, Leon Garcia National High School, Sto. Niño National High School, Baguio National School of Arts and Trades and Catalunan Pequeño National High School were the public school beneficiaries of this project. Davao Light previously refurbished the e.labs in these schools.

The official turn over last March 21, 2019 at the Sta. Ana Senior High School Campus, Davao City.

Present during the turnover were officials from the Department of Education, principals and faculty members of the school-beneficiaries, students and Davao Light representatives.

In the context of future employment or job opportunities of these students who will finish the EIM course, there is a high demand for electrician skills both locally and overseas. In fact, with the government's build build build program, more electricians are needed in the country's booming construction works,” said Davao Light Director and President and COO Rodger S. Velasco.

Velasco also added that providing opportunities for learning and developing skills are among the best things in preparing the young minds to a bright future ahead of them.

Davao Light has already awarded a total of 27 e.Labs to different public high schools within its franchise.
