Unscheduled power interruption hits part of Davao Light franchise

Customers in some parts of Davao Light and Power Co. Inc. franchise experienced an unplanned power interruption last June 2.

This power interruption happened after the Davao-Toril 138 kV line of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) tripped off. To stabilize the grid, an automatic load drop was activated.

This has caused service disruption affecting customers in areas of Calinan, Tugbok, Ecoland, Matina, Buhangin, Cabantian, Sasa, Panacan, Bunawan, Panabo, Carmen and Paquibato.

Power started at around 10:59 p.m.and was restored in the affected areas at 12:18 a.m. of June 3.

Davao Light deeply apologizes for the inconvenience of this unscheduled power interruption that is beyond its control.
