Solidarity in tough times: Davao Light employees raise funds for SPMC frontliners

In contribution to help beat the COVID-19 pandemic, Davao Light and Power Company employees donated money from their own pockets to help the medical frontliners of Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) who are currently providing care to CoViD 19 patients in Davao City.

After the 9-day fundraising campaign period, 72 employees have raised a total amount of Php 175,500. The money was used to buy 300 DIY face shields, 5,000 pairs of medical gloves and 30 liters of alcohol.

The initial items were turned over to SPMC through Task Force Davao last April 4 and the additional items will be given once the supply is available.

This donation and fundraising campaign is one of the Davao Light employees' ways to show their care and support to the frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.

The Business Units under the Aboitiz Group in Mindanao namely the Aboitiz Power Corporation, Davao Light, Hedcor Inc., Therma South Inc., Therma Marine Inc., Cotabato Light, Apo Agua, and Aboitiz Equity Ventures have raised a total of P479,200 from its employee-fundraising campaign to help the nation’s frontliners and all those affected during the ongoing health crisis.
