Davao Light begins COVID-19 testing for employees

Now that Davao City is placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. has started the rapid antibody testing to its employees including its third-party providers in preparation for their re-entry in the workplace.

Davao Light, in cooperation with the local government unit, the Department of Health (DOH), and the City Health Office of Davao, has conducted the testing to protect its workforce and at the same time ensure that they serve the customers with stringent safety.

With the rising confirmed cases of COVID-19, the Aboitiz Group continues to extend its support to the frontline workers, who are battling to contain and overcome the virus.

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. turned over medical supplies such as surgical masks and gloves, industrial gloves, safety goggles, IR thermometers, digital contact thermometers, and alcohol to the local government of Panabo City, and the Municipalities of Carmen, Sto. Tomas, Braulio E. Dujali and Kapalong. The 89th Infantry Battalion based in Sto. Tomas and the 1003rd Infantry Battalion based in Mahayag, Davao City, who have vital roles as frontliners, were also part of the beneficiaries.

Solidarity in tough times: Davao Light employees raise funds for SPMC frontliners

In contribution to help beat the COVID-19 pandemic, Davao Light and Power Company employees donated money from their own pockets to help the medical frontliners of Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) who are currently providing care to CoViD 19 patients in Davao City.

 

After the 9-day fundraising campaign period, 72 employees have raised a total amount of Php 175,500. The money was used to buy 300 DIY face shields, 5,000 pairs of medical gloves and 30 liters of alcohol.
