First pawikan nest of the year found at the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park
After the release of the rescued pawikan named Kadayawan last April 10, 2021, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc., an AboitizPower subsidiary, discovered a new pawikan nest at the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park in Sitio Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City.
This is the first batch of pawikan eggs found this year in the park. It was validated and confirmed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XI and the eggs are expected to hatch in the first week of June.
A total of 5,138 pawikan hatchlings have already been released by Davao Light since the Park was launched in 2014.
Davao Light is looking forward to more pawikan nests in the park. So with the help of Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., the company will continue their commitment to intensify conservation efforts to protect not only the nesting areas of the Park but the whole Aboitiz Cleanergy Park itself.
