Davao Light provides hygiene kits to typhoon Auring-hit victims in Sto. Tomas

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. together with its social development arm, Aboitiz Foundation Inc., donated hygiene kits to help affected families in the Municipality of Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte who were badly affected by the recent flooding caused by the Tropical Storm Auring.

 

The hygiene kits were delivered to the LGU of Sto. Tomas last March 3, 2021 which contains essentials like bath and laundry soap, shampoo, toothbrush, and toothpaste to help provide the basic sanitary needs of the affected families.

Off to a great start: Davao Light released three batches of pawikan hatchlings for the year

The year 2021 started in a very favorable way after three batches of pawikan eggs were hatched in the first quarter of the year.

 

A total of 334 newly-hatched sea turtles made their way to the sea from the shoreline of the outdoor biodiversity park, popularly known as the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park at Sitio Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

 

The first batch has a total of 128 pawikan hatchlings.

Davao City Cooperative benefits from Aboitiz Livelihood Recovery Project

Two (2) sets of egg-laying machines were turned over to Apo Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (AFAMULCO) of Brgy. Wines, Baguio District last February 26, as part of the livelihood (re)start package given by the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc.. The package includes a one (1) month supply of chicken feeds, medicines, and free technical assistance.

Aboitiz medical equipment donation expands, speeds up Davao COVID-19 testing

The Aboitiz Group, through the Aboitiz Foundation, continues to contribute to the country’s COVID-19 response efforts by turning over a brand new RNA (Ribonucleic Acid) Extraction machine to the Davao City local government unit (LGU), boosting the city’s overall testing efforts.

 

RNA extraction is a key pre-analytical step before COVID-19 test samples are processed by an RT-PCR (Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) machine. With the donation, Davao City will now have three RNA machines: one in Davao City International Airport and two in the city’s Los Amigos Molecular Laboratory.
