A new supplemental service called eBillTxt was recently launched by Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. to allow its customers to receive electronic bills via Short Message Service (SMS) or commonly known as text.

 

eBillTxt is Davao Light’s latest paperless option to receive monthly electricity bills and view them anytime, anywhere. This service is part of Davao Light's innovative way to provide its customers easy and efficient options

Davao Light strengthens its control and data system from cyber attacks

With people leaning more toward the use of digital technology, power utilities like Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. also took this advantage to innovate more ways to efficiently monitor and control its power distribution system by improving its Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system but also making sure to protect it from possible threats such as cyber-attacks.

Girl on Fire: Former Davao Light scholar becomes a firefighter

Leonela (aka "Nela") is a firefighter and is currently working at C. Bangoy Sr. Fire Station in Davao City. Before she became a firefighter, however, she was one of the 127 scholars that Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. have supported since 2011.

Nela applied for the scholarship after graduating from Davao City National High School. "I knew it wouldn't be easy to get accepted when I applied for the scholarship. My co-applicants were valedictorians and salutatorians and while I did have a high average, I know it would be hard to compete with them for the slot," Nela shared. Out of 80 applicants, Nela got accepted along with 29 other scholars in her batch.

INC members help conserve the environment thru coastal clean up, tree planting

Over 100 members of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) of Sitio Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City conducted a coastal clean up and a tree planting activity at the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park on April 15, 2022. The participants aim to help conserve the environment in their own way by collecting trash found in the coastal areas such as the park, which is located near their church. They also planted over 100 mangrove propagules to help protect the coastal areas from the onslaught of heavy waves.
