Davao Light Highlights Safety Excellence in Contractors’ Appreciation Night


Valued Partners. Davao Light celebrated its valued 22 contracted service partners last February 2025 at its annual Contractors’ Appreciation Night or CAN. These partners provide vital services such as emergency outage response, safety audit and line hazard surveys, maintenance works for substations, power lines, streetlights, fiber optic cables, and meters, and the construction of lines and digital substations. Moreover, they are instrumental in carrying out crucial projects in partnership with local government units namely, underground cabling, LED street lighting, and the Anti-Spaghetti Wire Ordinance.

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) celebrated its valued contracted service partners last February 2025 at its annual Contractors’ Appreciation Night or CAN. In its ninth year, CAN has highlighted the partners’ dedication to upholding the highest safety and service excellence standards.


The 22 partner companies provide vital services such as emergency outage response, safety audit and line hazard surveys, maintenance works for substations, power lines, streetlights, fiber optic cables, and meters, and the construction of lines and digital substations.


They are also instrumental in carrying out crucial projects in partnership with local government units, namely, underground cabling, LED street lighting, and the Anti-Spaghetti Wire Ordinance.


“Our partners are key in Davao Light’s mission of delivering safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Through the event, we honor and celebrate them for excelling in service delivery and safety practices,” said Davao Light President and COO Enriczar Tia.

In a comprehensive evaluation of its service partners' 2024 performance, Davao Light assessed their work execution, behavioral and safety performance, and financial and statutory compliance. Moreover, the event highlighted exceptional safety practices and embodied values worth emulation through special awards for outstanding companies and individuals.


LLM Unified Builders and Trading Corporation exhibited innovation by improving safety information material, which added to its impact and effectiveness. LSB Electrical Services Corporation, on the other hand, showed integrity by fostering accountability and workplace safety culture when they reported a near miss incident. Meanwhile, Power Service Electric Corporation (PSECO) demonstrated service excellence by providing manpower during the November 2024 Typhoon Pepito preparations of Subic Enerzone, another AboitizPower distribution utility.


Furthermore, SG Robert Temporado of Arsenal Security Agency, Inc. and Ranieto Sumalinog of ACAA, Inc. are Lifesaver Awardees. In the face of a safety hazard, they were able to save a life.


"While indispensable, electricity demands proper handling, as its misuse can lead to harm. We intensify our efforts toward a safe workplace for our personnel and contractors. We want everyone to go home to their families safe and sound,” added Tia.
