Switching power interruptions on April 5 and 6 in different parts of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on April 5 and 6, 2025, Saturday and Sunday affecting customers in different parts of Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate the emergency works at NGCP Davao Substation.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 10:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, April 5. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 6.


Specifically affected are customers from the entire Mamay Road to crossing Diversion traffic light, Floor Center Buhangin to Nephrology Center of Buhangin, Milan area, portions of Vincent Heights, bypass road going to La Verna Subdivision, Mamay Road to crossing J.P. Laurel Avenue, Damosa, and other nearby areas.


Also affected are those in the entire Maa area, Diversion Road to Jade Valley, Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa, Indangan, from Diversion Road going to Bean Xpress Matina Pangi Diversion and other nearby areas.


Those in the entire Ecoland area going to McArthur Highway, Matina Town Square, Ateneo de Davao University Grade School, Matina IT Park up to Davao Memorial Park, including Quimpo Boulevard, Bolton Bridge going to South Grove, whole Tulip Drive up to Walnut Street and other nearby areas will also be affected by these scheduled power interruptions.


Customers in portions of Bangkal area including Central Park area, Balusong, Tahimik Avenue up to Matina Crossing, including Diversion crossing Skyline to Catalunan Grande, Ulas Crossing area up to South Pacific, along Libby Road up to Bambu Estate, Davao-Bukidnon Road, and other nearby areas will also be affected.


Those in Matina area from McArthur Highway to Davao Memorial Park going to Matina Crossing, Matina Aplaya area going to Ecoland Coastal Road Entrance, Matina Pangi area going to Diversion Road Bean Xpress, and other nearby areas will also be affected by these scheduled power interruptions.


Customers in the entire Tugbok, Catalunan Pequeño, Tacunan, and Mintal area, including along Davao-Bukidnon Road from Bambu Estate to Angalan, and other nearby areas will also be affected.


Lastly, those in the entire Calinan area, including Riverside, De Lara Street, Tagakpan, Subasta, Sirib, , Lacson, Gumalang, Suawan, Tamugan, and Buda and Marilog areas will experience these service disruptions.


In addition, customers from corner Gempesaw Street and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Leon Garcia Street, Sta. Ana Avenue to Lizada Street, Quezon Boulevard to Bolton Bridge, including Bucana, City Hall and SP Building, portions of Pichon Street and Bolton Extension, and other nearby areas will also experience the 45-minute normalization schedule on Sunday, April 6.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
