Switching power interruptions on April 6 in Bajada, Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday, April 6, 2025, affecting customers in Bajada, Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate line reconfiguration works at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for 45 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.. Specifically affected are those from McDonald's SPMC up to Dumanlas Road, including SPMC.


In connection, a 5-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. affecting customers from DOH RO XI, SPMC, Dumanlas Road, Friendship Road, parts of UIC Bajada, Santol Street, portions of Sto Rosario Street, Watusi Street, Pag-asa Street, Galilea Street, Dacobil Street and other nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions but it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances when restoration extends beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
