Switching power interruptions on March 22 and 23 in Downtown Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday and Sunday, March 22 and 23, 2025, affecting customers in downtown Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate line maintenance works along J.P. Laurel Avenue.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 to 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 23. Specifically affected are those from the NBI Region XI Office Bajada to Bacaca area up to Diversion Road entrance to Jade Valley and Earth Grain Diversion Road underpass. This includes Garcia Heights, El Rio Vista Village, Rolling Hills Subdivision, Robinsons Highlands, and nearby areas. 


Customers from Orange Grove Hotel up to Samulco Compound Buhangin Road to Earth Grain Diversion Road underpass, from Bajada Suites to Abreeza including Dona Vicenta Subdivision, Mitsui Bussan, Medical School Drive, portions of Circumferential Road, EMP Village Marfori, Regino Compound, Regina Compound, Avida Towers Abreeza, and Redemptorist Church will also experience this power disruption.


In connection, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted anytime between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 to 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 23. Affected customers are those from NBI Region XI Office Bajada to Abreeza including Mitsui Bussan, Regino Compound, Regina Compound, Avida Towers Abreeza, Bormaheco Compound, Inspiria, and Redemptorist Church.


A 3-hour power outage will also be conducted from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 to 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, affecting customers from Bacaca Road corner Bajada up to Zen Hotel Garcia Heights including portions of Circumferential Road.


Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for 45 minutes anytime between 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 23. Specifically affected are those from NBI Region XI Office Bajada to Bacaca area up to Diversion Road entrance to Jade Valley and Earth Grain Diversion Road underpass including Garcia Heights, El Rio Vista Village, Rolling Hills Subdivision, Robinsons Highlands, and nearby areas


Also affected are those from Orange Grove Hotel up to Samulco Compound Buhangin Road to Earth Grain Diversion Road underpass.


Lastly, a normalization activity will also be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 23 affecting customers from Bajada Suites to NBI Region XI Office including Dona Vicenta Subdivision, Medical School Drive, portions of Circumferential Road, and EMP Village Marfori.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions but it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances when restoration extends beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
