Switching Power Interruptions on October 6 and 7 in Different Parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on October 6 and 7, Sunday and Monday affecting customers in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte. These interruptions are necessary to facilitate substation works at Don Ramon Substation.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m on Sunday, October 6. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7.


Specifically affected are customers from the Puan Substation to Bambu Estate, Catalunan Pequeno, Davao Bukidnon Road going to McArthur Highway Bangkal including Ulha Village, Coca Cola Bottlers, Dumoy areas going to Toril including Vales Beach, road to Eden Bayabas, and areas going to Sirawan, and Binugao.


Also affected are those in the Downtown area from portions of J.P. Laurel Avenue Bajada going to Bankerohan up to MTS including areas going to Sandawa Road including parts of Torres Street, Obrero, C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Quirino Avenue, and neighboring areas, Bonifacio Street, Ilustre and Magallanes Streets, and those fronting GMall Toril up to Sirawan.


Customers in the Buhangin area from Camella Northpoint to NHA Buhangin, areas of Panacan going to Unifrutti and Tibungco Public Market Malagamot Road, areas at Diversion Road Panacan going to F. Bangoy Airport entrance, Buhangin areas from Mamay Road going to Buhangin Memorial, Gaisano Grand Citygate and Crossing Milan, Cabantian road, Amakan, Indangan areas and all neighboring areas; including Davao Mighty Steel will also experience these switching power interruptions.


Lastly, those from Steel Asia, Holcim, the entire Bunawan up to Licanan, Tadeco, Sto. Tomas, Dujali and nearby areas, the entire Tibungco area, Ilang, and Mudiang, Licanan up to the entire Panabo area, San Vicente area up to the Municipality of Carmen and nearby areas, including DICT, and Panabo Wharf will also be affected by these power outages.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
