Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on September 15 and 16, Sunday and Monday, affecting customers in Davao del Norte. These outages are necessary to facilitate line upgrading works of the 69kV line from San Vicente Substation to DICT and the substation maintenance works at Sto. Tomas Substation.
To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 15. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the same day.
Specifically affected are those from the San Vicente areas going to Panabo Bus Terminal, Nanyo, Panabo Wharf, and the entire Carmen including J.P. Laurel Panabo going to Licanan.
The second set of switching power interruptions will be for 30 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 15 to facilitate the transfer of loads from the affected lines to a nearby substation. Meanwhile, the normalization will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16.
Customers affected by these power outages are those from the entire Sto. Tomas, from Tanglao to Sto. Tomas proper and nearby areas including Biopulp and Marsman.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
