First Inter-Aboitiz Bowling Tournament in Mindanao launched

In promoting the holistic development and camaraderie among employees, the Aboitiz launched its first Inter-Aboitiz Bowling Tournament last July 27 at the B3 Bowling Center at the NCCC Mall, Maa Davao City.

 

Seven Aboitiz companies in Mindanao competed in this friendly bowling match themed as 1 Team, 1 Aboitiz. The business units (BU) that participated are the Davao Light and Power Co., Hedcor Inc., Unionbank of the Philippines, Therma Marine Inc. (TMI), Therma South Inc., Apo Agua Infrastructura Inc., and the AboitizPower Distribution Unit (AP DU).

Present during the launching are the BU heads of the participating companies namely Arturo Milan, EVP and COO of Davao Light; Jan Risager, VP for Mindanao Operations of TMI, Nuel Medelo, Grid Manager of Hedcor; Ones Almario, General Manager of Apo Agua; Geraldine Belarmino, Regional Sales and Operations Officer of Unionbank; and Belen Catanduanes, AVP-HR of the AP DU.

 

Around 100 Aboitiz employees graced the event to represent their company at the tournament. Some were present to give moral support and cheer for their officemates.

 

Sports is important as it helps make better employees. To us Aboitiz companies in Mindanao, we wanted to extend the good relationships we have within the organization to our sister companies. Yes, we work hard, but at the same time, we play hard. May the best Aboitiz company win.” said Milan, who is part of the A-team playing for Davao Light.

 Davao Light, the Aboitiz's electric distribution utility in Southern Mindanao, is the overall tournament working team. The enthusiastic collaboration of the different Human Resource persons from the participating BUs also contributed to the realization of the event.

 

The bowling tournament is scheduled every Wednesdays at the NCCC Mall until August 31.
